Why FRP works for cooling towers

Rust-resistant composite casings

The resin-and-glass casing does not rust like a ferrous metal shell. A suitable resin system can resist the wet service environment and the specified water-treatment chemistry.

Lightweight moulded panels

Moulding produces curved casings and repeatable panels. The strength-to-weight potential of the laminate helps with handling and assembling large components.

What to specify: Match the resin, reinforcement and finish to water chemistry, temperature, UV exposure and the maker’s structural specification. Heat rejection depends on the complete tower design.
