Cobalt Octoate 6% is a standard cobalt-based accelerator used to promote the peroxide-initiated cure of unsaturated polyester and compatible vinyl ester systems. It is commonly used in FRP fabrication to obtain practical gelation and cure rates.

Recommended use
Use at the resin manufacturer's recommended dosage with the specified peroxide catalyst. Establish the final level by gel time and cure trials.
Not recommended for
Not intended as a standalone curing agent; do not substitute for the peroxide catalyst; exact compatibility must be confirmed for non-polyester systems.
Handling and safety
Never mix cobalt accelerator directly with MEKP or other concentrated organic peroxide. Add components separately to the resin in the prescribed order. Use gloves, eye protection, and ventilation and follow the current SDS.
